Who is Matt Thompson with Green Realty?

Most importantly I am a follower of Christ. I love Jesus and am so blessed to have him in my life. I love spending time with him and I truly feel his presence when I am outside in his creation. I am a Husband to my wife Tracy. I have been married for just about 4 years and love it. My wife Tracy and I love just spending "silly time together." Our definition of that is: having nothing planned and being as sporadic as possible :). I don't have children yet but I am really excited to have them soon. It will be so much fun to teach them all kinds of things and to love them unconditionally.I have a brother that lives in San Diego and loves to surf.I wish he was a lot closer because he always puts a smile on my face. He is one of the funniest people I know. My parents have taught me so much and I am grateful everyday for them. I might of possibly got all of my friends addicted to fly fishing and that is a good feeling :). Fly fishing is one of my favorite things to do. There is nothing I can say to describe it but if I had to pick one word, it would be "AWESOME". I always take my golden retriever "Cooper" everywhere with me. He is my best furry friend in the world. I love my job as a real estate consultant because I can accomplish so many things in one profession. Most importantly I can help people with one of the funnest things you can buy. Second I love all the conversations and friendships that come with my job. I have never met someone that I haven't enjoyed talking with about there life and their dreams. It is so fun to here all about other people. I can't wait to have the chance to meet new people and maybe even get them addicted to the Montana lifestyle :).One phrase truly describes the way I handle my Real Estate transactions:

"Bringing my Christian Ethics to the workplace everyday"

I truly believe in this and it is the foundation of my business. When I purchased my first home while I was in College  8 years ago I didn't have the greatest experience. The guy who sold me my home was more interested in having me sign the dotted line then making sure I was being taken care of. Coming from a Real Estate family I knew my fair share but still I wanted someone who cared about me as a person and was asking those hard questions. I am going to be your consultant in this transaction, not just a salesman. I will be asking those harder questions, for example: Where is your favorite place in your home currently? What do you like to do on the weekends? If you bid low on this home and lose it to somebody else, will that devastate you? I will be asking these kind of questions threw out our time together that way I can make sure you are purchasing the correct place for you and your family. That way when everything is done and you are living in your beautiful home you won't have any regrets.

Story time :). I had this client that always told me stories about her beautiful garden and how she loved being outside. I asked her the question "What is your favorite part of your home now?" She responded "The yard, of course." We started looking at homes and she wanted to put a bid on this really nice newer home that had everything she wanted except a big yard. It only had a 15 by 15 foot yard. Just big enough to have a patch of grass or so :). I could of easily whipped out my nifty pen and contract and had her sign something right there, but I didn't. I gracefully explained to her, what she already explained to me, about how her yard was her favorite place. We talked about it for a an hour or so and decided to pass on that house. A week or so later we found the holy grail of yards :). She still sends me pictures of her garden and remembering that smile on her face makes me realize why I do this for a living. I hope this story helps you out with understanding my heart and personality towards you as either my new or existing client/friend.

My professional side of the transaction:

I would be delighted to have an opportunity to share thoughts and advice on a subject I’m passionate about, which is “How to buy or sell a home in This New World.”

I’m sure you have read and seen from the newspaper and mass media about the current state of affairs in the real estate and mortgage market, and you have formed your opinion. By the time we are finished, you’ll have a better, deeper understanding of exactly what it would take to get your home sold or purchase a home in this “New World.”

In working with you, I have 3 roles. My three roles are: I am Your Consultant. I am Your Negotiator. I am Your Overseer of the Transactional Details.

As you can imagine, every i must be dotted and every t must be crossed, because there are 100 pieces of paper requiring upward to 43 signatures and initials, and making a mistake can be very costly to you. Every transaction has 100 to 150 phone calls alone, and each one of them is loaded with critical details. How does it make you feel knowing that there are 43 different people from 14 different industries who get involved during the seven stages of your transaction?

What this means to you is I dedicate 100% of my time and effort to providing exceptional service to my clients: not to looking for new business.

I’m interested in building strong, lasting, lifelong relationships, one person at a time. Starting with you!

As my client, you will come to appreciate the commitment I approach my roles with.

My purpose is for you to be outrageously happy by having the best possible experience you can have when you need to buy or sell a home.

I won an award!! Best of Billings Realtor Awards

This is from RM3 magazine her in Billings, MT.  http://rmcubed.com

Matt Thompson is a young, energetic Realtor who entered the profession right after high school. His father, Kevin Thompson, has been in real estate for 30 plus years and the father/son duo are committed to helping educate people about the positive impact of environmentally friendly home developments.

"We have several developers in which the seller's have donated open spaces with walking, biking, and riding. Our office has solar panels and a windmill for energy," Thompson said. "Our goal is to build developments that are 100 percent off the grid."

Support green-support youth

Thompson's enthusiasm is not limited to green housing. He and his wife Tracy, of Tracy Moore Photography, spend a considerable number of hours and financial resources to help the Senior Boys group of Harvest Church. Thompson takes these young men camping, hiking, fly fishing and other activities.  "I have worked with kids who were heavy drinkers, partiers and drug users and turned them into kids who'll call me on a Friday night and ask me to go to a movie with them or fishing on Saturday," Thompson said.

Just as his fellow awardess, Thompson likes best the fellowship and relationships that are developed while working with clients.

"For every home sold, there are countless hours listening to my clients share their hopes, dreams and aspirations." Thompson said.

Going the extra mile

Along these lines Thompson accomplished one of his greatest challenges. While working with the Youth Pastor of his church, who was on a strict budget, Thompson couldn't find a home, new or old, that would be large enough for his client to be able to entertain the youth in his home. He called over 30 contractors to find one who was just starting in the business and would be willing to build a home to meet the size and specifications, his client needed on his budget. As a result of Thompson's persistence and the goodwill of the contractor, the young pastor ended up with a home ideal for his youth ministry.

Congratulations Matt Thompson

Things I do for the community I live in and love.

One of the things I enjoy most when I am not working is volunteering at Harvest Church and helping the youth ministry. My wife and I really enjoy giving time to the kids at Harvest. I just finished up with the senior boys at Skyview this year and will miss them a lot. Some of them are staying near which will be really nice but others are going away to college and the military. I spent countless hours with them on their middle school and high school journey and feel like a dad/friend/brother. They sure taught me a lot as well, let me tell you :). I wish them the best of luck! I am starting again this year with the incoming freshman of Skyview and hope I can help them with their journey as well. Only time will tell :).

My best furry friend :)

This is our dog Cooper. He is a golden Retriever and has the funniest personality ever! I try to take him every where with me because he always keeps me smiling. He loves to go fly fishing with me for some reason, it is so  adorable. He will watch the strike indicator the whole time and as soon as it goes down, he will instantly look at me, and wait for me to say fish on or not this time pup, only a snag.If I say fish on though, he is instantly on the side of the boat, with his tail wagging at 100 wags per second. He can't wait for me to reel that fish in. Let me know if you ever want to go walk your dog with us. Cooper is always looking for new friends as well :).
